The Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) launched NYC: ATWORK. As part of this initiative, the program put together the Business Development Council (BDC).

The Business Develpment Council (BDC) is a partnership of over 60 businesses.

These businesses are looking to fill:

  • Entry-level jobs
  • Manager positions

They are from the public and private sector.

Resources available for job seekers include:

  • Jobs within the BDC and City government (55-a)
  • Recruitment events held by employers
  • Guidance on resumes and cover letters
  • Employer feedback on relevant job applications
  • Employer-led skills workshops
  • Practice interviews (with feedback)
  • Disclosure and reasonable accommodations
  • Informational interviews to learn about careers
  • Career mentoring days (job shadowing)
