The Health Department works with the Sexual and Reproductive Justice Community Engagement Group (CEG). They meet monthly to plan activities that encourage all New Yorkers to safely express their sexuality and gender identity.

Sexual and reproductive justice means you have the right to:

  • Choose to have or not have children
  • Choose how you want to give birth or create a family
  • Care for your children with the necessary social support
  • Care for your children in a safe and healthy environment
  • Control your own body and self-expression
  • Be free from any form of sexual or reproductive oppression

CEG includes:

  • Community leaders
  • Activists
  • Nonprofit groups

CEG created a video about sexual and reproductive justice. If you're interested in hosting a screening, the Sexual and Reproductive Justice Discussion Guide can help you plan the event and explore topics with your group. You can download the guide or request a paper copy by phone.
