Need something else?

At times, New York City can experience severe weather. It's important to take the time to prepare for severe weather emergencies, such as a:

  • Winter storm

You should:

  1. Make an emergency plan that best suits your needs and the needs of your household.
  2. Stay informed by signing up for Notify NYC, the City of New York’s official emergency communications program, available in multiple languages and formats.
  3. Visit the NYC Severe Weather website or the National Weather Service online to find out how severe weather emergencies are affecting New York City.

Submit a Damage Information Form

You can also report property damage caused by severe weather if you are a:

  • Homeowner/rental property owner
  • Tenant
  • Business owner

Your report will be sent to NYC Housing Recovery Operations (HRO).

Your report will help the City collect accurate data to share with additional agencies and partners, including state and federal agencies and nonprofit partners.

You may need to include the following in your report:

  • Damaged property's address
  • Damaged property's insurance details
  • Rental property owner and/or tenant information
