On Thursday, October 24th, the City of New York will celebrate the New York Liberty Team for their first-ever Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Championship.

Parade

The Ticker Tape Parade kicks off at 10 AM in Battery Park and travels north along Broadway to City Hall in Lower Manhattan. 

All are invited to celebrate along the parade route. You do not need a ticket for the parade. ADA accessible viewing will be at Zuccotti Park (west side of Broadway from Cedar to Liberty Street).

City Hall Ceremony

At the conclusion of the parade, a ceremony celebrating our champions will take place at New York City Hall.

The City Hall Ceremony ticket giveaway has ended. The 125 winners were contacted on Wednesday, October 23rd. Everyone attending the post-parade ceremony at City Hall is required to have a ticket.

Street Closures

  • Broadway between Reade Street and Battery Place will be closed to southbound vehicle traffic
  • State Street Between Battery Place and Bridge Street
  • Battery Place between West Thames Street and Broadway
  • 3rd Place between Battery Place and Little West Street
  • 2nd Place between Battery Place and Little West Street
  • Little West Street between Morris Street and Battery Place
  • West Street between Morris Street and Battery Place
  • Morris Street between West Street and Washington Street

MTA Travel Changes

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will have train service changes and may close certain subway entrances and exits in the area. Due to street closures, many MTA buses may be re-routed.

  • Buses will be detoured during the parade above Worth Street and Broadway
  • The Downtown Connection bus service will also be suspended for the entire day on Thursday, October 24. Normal service will resume on Friday, October 25.
  • The subway stations surrounding City Hall will have exits closed. These include the R,W trains on the east side of Broadway and the 4,5,6 trains at Park Row Plaza.
  • Beginning on Thursday, October 24 from 9 AM until the conclusion of the event:
    • 4/5 - Bowling Green the exit/entrance at Battery Place will be closed during the parade
    • 4/5/6/J/Z - Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall - the east mezzanine leading to the City Hall loop stairway will be closed during the parade
    • R/W skips City Hall in both directions during the parade and ceremony
